Having qualified for the ESSA National Primary School Swimming Championships a few months ago, MGS Junior Boys made the trip to Ponds Forge, Sheffield on Saturday 16 June, to test themselves against the fastest schools in England.

The team made up of Whitehirst (Captain), Ichim, McCord and Zhou, all from the MGS Junior School, managed to finish third in their heat with a time of 1:11:11 (4x25 Mixed Stroke Relay) which meant they would swim in the 'A' Final.

A very quick final followed with MGS finishing seventh, a superb effort and achievement and one the boys involved can feel very proud of.

This event concludes a very positive year for MGS Junior Swimming and we look forward to another busy programme in 2018/2019.  Mr Bird, Head of Junior Sport would like to thank Mr Van Zyl, Mr Richmond, Miss Murtagh and Mrs Boddington who have supported the programme this year. Without their assistance and knowledge we could not offer the amount of water based opportunities as we currently do.
