Ian Thorpe came back to School on Friday 8 June to talk to members of the Manchester Luncheon Club. His talk, 'Boy and Man: 50 Years of MGS' was a wonderful tribute to his mother, who encouraged him throughout his life.
He talked about his time at MGS both as a boy and then as a teacher, culminating in the job he is most proud of - Director of Development. He finished with a short Q & A where OMs reminisced about staff during their time here.
Twenty five guests were in attendance, which is double the usual attendance. Les Coop was elected the new Chairman for 2018-19 and dates were set for the next season of luncheons.
A most enjoyable occasion.
