Many congratulations to four MGS boys, who have been officially selected for Lancashire County Cricket Club's historic tour of Mumbai next month.

MGS boys Ben Sheridan, Henry Murray, Matthew Murthy and George Bell (not pictured), along with MGS teacher Mr Greg Clayton as Tour Manager, have been picked for the ground-breaking tour, which will also include six members of the LCCC First XI, as well as the medical team and coaching staff.

The boys were presented with their caps by former England and LCCC great Paul Allott in the Long Room at Old Trafford last night.

The tour is part of a pilot project launched by LCCC, which is aimed at its future Under-13 and Under-15 cricketers undertaking overseas tours.

The squad will be working with the Dharavi Cricket Academy, as part of the Project Front Foot initiative, and will take part in a development programme which will look to improve cricket skills in a challenging environment, develop as people and take part in charity work.

They will also work with the Global Cricket School, an initiative founded to provide a holistic cricketing experience that helps cricketers gain the competitive advantage. The facility aims at providing exposure to the differing conditions and skill sets required to succeed in a different continent.

This is a huge accomplishment - many congratulations to Ben, Henry, Matthew, George and Mr Clayton. Good luck in Mumbai!
