MUNHIGH 2023
On Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th February, 18 pupils attended Manchester High School for Girls’ Model United Nations conference representing the countries of USA and Egypt.
Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic or recreational activity in which participants assume the role of national ambassadors or representatives to debate and seek to solve global issues.
Nine pupils won individual awards in addition to the USA delegation that won the Highly Commended award in General Assembly and the Highly Commended delegation award overall.
Zach F, Max F, Teddy E, Barny N and George K attended as Guest Chairs and Geza K attended as part of the Press Team.
Congratulations to the following pupils, many of whom received individual awards:
Kingsley A – won the highly commended delegate award in the Human Rights Council representing the USA
John B – won the highly commended delegate award in the Political committee representing the USA
Danuja F – received a special mention in the Political committee representing Egypt
Aarav G – Ambassador for the delegation of Egypt
Patrick H-A – won the highly commended delegate award for the Historical committee representing the USA
Hasnain I – delegate in the Human Rights Committee for the delegation of Egypt
Evan M – won the outstanding delegate award in the Health committee representing the USA
Joss N – won the best young delegate award in the Economics and Finance committee representing the USA
Yawer R – won the most improved delegate award in the Youth committee representing Egypt
Aadam S – delegate in the Health committee for the delegation of Egypt
Junayd S – won the commended delegate award in the Security Council representing the USA
Carl S – won the highly commended delegate award Human Rights committee representing the USA
