As this year sees the centenary of the armistice, MGS has created a unique tribute to the role the School and members of its community played during World War One. A performance in the Memorial Hall last evening draw on the School’s vast archive of material from the period; letters from OMs to High Master Paton, letters from bereaved parents informing the School of the fate of their sons, entries to Ulula, as well as the testimony and diaries of boys, teachers and parents.

Woven together with music, the assembly was 'taken’ by a pupil playing the role of High Master Paton, and used his original assemblies given between 1914-1918 to tell the story of MGS during these war years. This was an opportunity to reflect on the courage and bravery demonstrated by the MGS community, and its role in World War One.

There will also be three separate performances of the production to MGS boys today as the School continues to pay tribute to all those who courageously gave their lives during the conflict.

We Will Remember Them.
