The History of The Hugh Oldham Lecture

The Hugh Oldham Lecture was introduced in 2005 by the current High Master, Dr Christopher Ray. His idea was to create a prestigious academic event each year on the School calendar, which enabled the educational enrichment of not only our sixth formers, but also sixth form students from as many local schools and colleges in the area as possible.
Each year students, teaching staff and members of the public attend the Lecture to hear eminent speakers. The one-hour Lecture begins at 5:30 pm and includes a question and answer session at the end.
The day for students begins at 2:15 pm with a selection of workshops and seminars.
