This year MGS has a total of 35 boys who have won offers to England's two oldest seats of learning. The numbers confirm MGS's reputation as the top school in the North for successful Oxbridge admissions with the five boys from Wilmslow some of the very strongest performers.

 Bolton Evening News
Bolton young academic and community worker Kort Egan has won an offer from Gonville and Caius College Cambridge to read Theology and Religious Studies. As well as being one of The Manchester Grammar School's top academics, Kort, 17 from Avenhead Close, Harwich, has worked for the school Community Action Programme for the last five years, and this year is helping to coordinate over 100 volunteers working in eight primary schools across Manchester.
Our role is to listen to children read, work with through maths exercises and help the teachers, said Kort. He added: I hope it helps the children, I have to say I have gained an immense amount from the experience. It's really rewarding to see a child develop and gain confidence. After his Cambridge degree, Kort hopes to go on to Harvard to study for his doctorate.
 Oldham Chronicle
Chadderton young academic David Bickerstaffe hopes his offer from Trinity College Oxford to study Engineering will be the first step to a career working on the design of the internal combustion engine. The 17-year-old Manchester Grammar School pupil first needs to get three As in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics. David, from Owler Lane, is no stranger to top marks having gained 8 stars in his GCSEs, including a 100% mark in Italian, taking the full course in only eight months.
