Thursday 22 April
MGS Guitars Concert Memorial Hall 7:30 pm
This is always a hugely memorable evening and is a chance to see and hear the large numbers of guitarists in school perform in ensembles or as soloists on both acoustic and electric instruments under the leadership and instruction of our guitar teachers, Mr Baker and Mr Jervis. Tickets are £4.00 (£3.00 concessions) and are available on the door or in advance from the box office 224 7201. Interval Refreshments will be provided.
Saturday 24 April
MGS Jazz Dinner DanceMemorial Hall 7:30 pm until 11:00 pm
The Music Department invites you to their 2010 Dinner Dance in the Manchester Grammar School Memorial Hall.
The evening of Swing and Jazz will be presented by the Senior Jazz Band supported by The Big Band, The Thursday Singers and The Benny Goodman Clarinets. A delicious three course dinner with coffee will be prepared by our Catering Manager, Richard Palembello, and his team, and a bar will be run by Music Department staff.
All money raised from the evening will go towards the Senior Jazz Band’s 2011 tour to the San Sebastian Jazz Festival.

Thursday 29 April
MGS Summer Concert Memorial Hall 7:30 pm
This is a chance for Junior, Lower and Middle School groups and ensembles to perform. The concert will include the massed ranks for Year 5, ARCO, Jazz Band, Intermediate Band, Brass Group, Junior and Lower School Choirs, and some other small ensembles as well as one or two solo items. Tickets are £4.00 (£3.00 concessions) and are available on the door or in advance from the box office 224 7201. Interval Refreshments will be provided.

Wednesday/Thursday 5 & 6 May
A2 Music recitals
M1 Music Department 7:30 pm
A chance to hear some of our top instrumentalists in the Upper Sixth Form.

Our acclaimed touring production of A Midsummer Night's Dream will continue its tour of local primary schools during May. They will be visiting Farrowdale Prep School in Oldham, Branwood Prep School in Eccles and St Mary’s Primary in Levenshulme. A chance to hear some of the top instrumentalists in our Lower and Middle School perform in front of an external adjudicator and compete for the Peter Greenburgh Recital Cup. More information and entry form here

Your invitation to the Private Viewing of our GCSE and A-Level students' artwork between 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm - Refreshments on arrival in the Quadrangle. Admission Free.

Monday 5 July
The annual Hugh Oldham Lecture 5:30 pm - Memorial Hall
The 2010 Lecture will be presented by British hedge-fund manager, Stanley Fink, Old Mancunian and former Deputy Chairman and CEO of Man Group plc. He is currently CEO of Standard Asset Management and Co-treasurer of the Conservative Party.
This event is free and open to students in Year 11 and 12 (Lower Sixth) of MGS and local state and independent schools in the area, as well as our parents and members of the public. This is a ticketed lecture and one of our most polular events of the year; places are limited and early seat reservation is advised should you wish to attend. Summer Party
Join us for a fun and enjoyable evening beginning with a Pimms Reception in the Cloister Courtyard, followed by a disco and light supper in the Refectory.
Supper is posh fish and chips - goujons of sole in a bag - with a chocolate fountain and strawberries. There will be a cash bar, a raffle and entertainment provided by a magician and caricaturist.
You can reserve a table for 8 or 10, or just come on your own.
Only over 18s because of the licensing regulations.
All for £15 - excellent value!
