Junior Section table tennis star Keir North has won Glossop Table Tennis Club’s Most Improved Player Award.
The 11-year-old will now be one of an elite band of Tameside youngsters playing for both the top club’s junior and senior teams.
Taking up the sport less than two years ago, Kier has taken remarkable strides and said: Table tennis is really exciting. It’s not like football or cricket where you might not necessarily be involved for long periods; in table tennis you are always in the game.
Keir has straightforward ambitions: I just want to become one of the best players in my club, but I now that will not be easy as there are some exceptional players in Glossop.
