The Manchester Grammar School has a thriving Sports Department and the Refreshments Committee is always in need of helpers to provide our sports teams and visiting teams with refreshments at Saturday sports fixtures. The teams’ supporters, parents, brothers, sisters etc, are also served with tea and coffee which are very welcome, particularly after a morning standing on a cold touchline!
During the Michaelmas and Lent Terms help is needed for the soccer and rugby fixtures and in the Summer Term for the provision of cricket teas. It isn’t arduous work and you get to meet other mums and members of the MGS community. Could you give us a few hours, maximum once a term please? Please don't worry if your son isn’t sporty – many mums relish the opportunity of coming in whatever.
It’s a great opportunity for you to meet other parents, have a chat, support a Committee that raises money for the Parents’ Society Fund, and also contributes towards presenting the hospitable side of The Manchester Grammar School to other schools.
If you can volunteer, you will be allocated to an experienced Team Leader who will contact you well in advance to check your availability for a fixture date and to help you on the day. If you can spare a few hours, just once or twice a year, your help would be very much appreciated.
If you think you can help - great! Please email me your name and contact telephone numbers, or give me a call; I look forward to hearing from you!
