The Adventure

Join in the adventure and 'Dare to be Wise'

When sports, travel, camps, charities, community action, clubs and societies sit as equals with academic and pastoral life, all flourish and each is enhanced by the other. They are pieces of a jigsaw rather than rivals for time, each allowing our boys the choices to experience a wealth of diversity to develop their individual talents and personalities. And all of our boys are celebrated for their individuality. The common factor is their intelligence but beyond that they represent the broadest range of economic and ethnic background, religious belief, learning styles and special needs. Dare to embrace the unfamiliar.

When the shackles of SATs and entrance examinations are removed from our clever nine and ten year olds in the Junior Section and innovative teachers given professional freedom, the magic truly blossoms. Philosophy, five languages, Eastern Mediterranean Studies and real science, yes; but Indian dance and cuisine, representative sport and a full scale production of Macbeth only hints at the thrill of learning for the sheer excitement of the process.
Dare to walk away from the straightjacket and tedium of ever more polished and tedious solutions to repetitive exercises in mathematics and English.

When very clever youngsters develop and thrive as individuals alongside those with equivalent talent they need the best validation of their achievement. International Baccalaureate, A-level and IGCSE; schemes of accreditation of leaning as diverse as the destinations of our Sixth Form leavers and qualifications that are understood throughout the world. Oxbridge, Durham, UCL, Manchester, and other prestigious UK universities are popular choices, but increasingly it is Harvard, Yale and other Ivy League schools.

Dare to think beyond the obvious
and join in the adventure.

NOTE: Our school motto Sapere Aude translates as 'Dare to be Wise'
