The Foundation Bursary Appeal ran from 1998 to October 2003 and met its target of raising £10 million to support means-tested bursary places at MGS.

The Appeal was managed by MGS staff and expenses were kept below 1.5%.

Since October 2003, the Bursary Fund has remained open and we have been grateful to receive additional support as the demand for bursary places and the cost of supplying them have increased.

In November 2011, the Bursary Fund was valued at £18 million.  More than 240 boys (17% of the School) are now supported by means tested bursaries because of the generosity of our donors. These boys, their families and the whole School community are indebted to every single person who has expressed, through his or her gift, faith in our vision of a future with the widest possible access to MGS.

The Next 500 Appeal will aim to raise a further £10 million to enable us to help more candidates and take us closer to our ultimate aim of admitting all deserving boys.

We simply hope that people will give according to their means and include MGS amongst their chosen charities in the coming years.
