Borrowdale is the MGS Mountain Camp. It will set you buzzing with its stunning range of mountain based activities, from pottering in Keswick’s back streets and shops to unparalleled opportunities to experience adrenaline fuelled sports at the highest standard.
You pitch your tent at the level you want from complete beginners to high-level wild mountain camping with only what fits inside your rucksack! The site is set amongst the most secluded and breathtaking mountain scenery in the UK and you can enjoy some of Mr Blair’s and Mr Cittanova's legendary routes, scrambling on ridges in some of the most dramatic settings in the country.

With an adrenaline-pumped mountain bike descent on a single track, a more reassuring man-made circuit in Grizedale Forest, water sports on Derwent water, ghyll scrambling, climbing inside a waterfall, outdoor and indoor climbing and mountain walks at any level there is something to satisfy all appetites.
Borrowdale has a renowned football tournament and informal football on its spacious level pitch, volley ball, table tennis tournaments, indoor games and the climatic end of camp prizes. There are well qualified staff in all aspects of leading walks, climbing and mountain biking, supplemented by the best instructors in the Lakes. What better setting at the heart of the Lakeland highest peaks. Scafell Pike can actually be ascended right from the camp on foot.

The camp is preparation for boys hoping to undertake treks. The site has a large flat grassy field, a large marquee, and individual 4-man modern sturdy ridge tents, with the use of a large stone building on site providing hot showers.
The site has stunning mountain views all around and Borrowdale is also a 5 star gastronomic experience in the capable hands of Mr Dobson and Miss Roberts.

Over the years Borrowdale has unsurprisingly built up a loyal following of boys, old boys and staff who return year after year for this memorable week in the Lakes.
