The original multi-activity camp, Lucton, is based on the banks of the River Wye at Symmonds Yat, in the Forest of Dean.
The Forest of Dean provides the ideal backdrop for a week of fun and games taken straight out of ‘The Dangerous Book for Boys’. We’ll be hiking, biking, pony trekking, canoeing, caving, trying archery, gorge walking, raft building, climbing, abseiling and hunting for treasure!
Interspersed in the hectic week of wet and/or muddy activities will be opportunities to explore local civilisation, with trips running daily to nearby cities Hereford and Monmouth, or Mr Shoard’s infamous Mystery History trip.
Whilst on site the boys are free to play cricket, football, hockey, softball, podex, in fact any game that takes their fancy or simply relax in the stunning surroundings.

In the proper camp tradition, we’ll sleep, meet, eat and cook under canvas – the food is pretty spectacular - If the BBC were running a new camping based Masterchef, then personally I think I’d win it!
At this point, I’d like to reveal my trump card… The campsite has flushing toilets and showers – although I cannot promise that all boys will return home clean!

This camp is ideally suited to those who are perhaps new to camping or simply want to head further south for some sunshine! All activities cater for all abilities and are lead by qualified instructors - except the treasure hunt which is set by two of the greatest minds that MGS has to offer…
I hope to see you there – wellies and sunhat at the ready!
- Anna
