As part of our feature looking at what it is like to start at MGS, through the eyes of the boys themselves, today we hear from Charlie, who started in Year 7 in September 2018.

Charlie - Year 7

On my first day at MGS I was nervous. Who wouldn’t be? However, I knew that I was about to attend a great school full of smart, intelligent boys.

What I’ve really enjoyed so far is how many co-curricular and curricular clubs there are. My favourites so far have been the table tennis and the World Cinema club, where we watch movies in foreign languages.

Making friends at MGS is easy. Your first group of friends are going to be your form. My form is all friendly and I have already made some friends for life. If you befriend everyone in your form, then you already know one eighth of the whole of Year 7. Isn’t that amazing?

Don’t worry about the teachers either. I can assure you that they may look menacing, but all of them have a bright side! There are so many lessons at MGS it is essential that you finish your homework as soon as possible, as if you leave one piece of homework every day, after a week you will have seven pieces of unfinished homework! Every single teacher will support you at MGS and will make sure you have a great time.
