Since the UK’s vaccination drive began in earnest in January of this year, a number of our boys have volunteered their time at local vaccination centres, showing their determination to play their part in tackling Covid-19.

Year 11 pupil Harish Kapoor is volunteering his free time to help his family - who run a NHS vaccination centre in Whalley Range - helping to book-in patients who come for their jabs.

Lewis Wong, who is also in Year 11, volunteers at a vaccination centre in Tonge Moor. He is doing this to help his community, but also clocking some hours for the volunteering section of his Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.

And Year 12 pupils Ahmed Hayat and Bazil Shahzad are also volunteering their time at a Covid-19 vaccination centre in Timperley. Both are extremely keen to help people in their community get their jabs and also have an eye on studying medicine in future so this is great work experience for them.

We are so proud to see MGS boys volunteering their time and energies into the fight against Covid-19 and doing their bit to drive down transmission rates in their communities. Well done, boys.
