Congratulations to our boys who took part in the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge and who were among only 1000 pupils nationally who qualified for the first round of the British Mathematical Olympiad.

They all achieved excellent results, and in particular Diseye Dasimaka and Nathaniel Loh gained distinctions – a particularly impressive performance considering that those boys are in years 10 and 11 respectively, and this is a national competition open to all pupils up to year 13. In addition, Nathaniel has now qualified for the second round of the Olympiad – an accolade usually only achieved by about 250 pupils – this is a truly remarkable result.

Year 13 student Alex Buckley commented on the difficulty of the mathematical challenges, saying: “The problems in the Olympiad were very difficult so it was very rewarding to work through some of them and eventually come up with a solution”.
