Posted on: September 12th 2018School News

1During the Summer, our Year 5 boys (who are now in Year 6) completed their Minimus Latin Projects, and these were put forward for the international competition.

This year's theme for the Latin-inspired competition was Pyramus and Thisb from Ovid's Metamorphoses and Peleus and Thetis from Greek Mythology.

Pupils are challenged to submit entries on the theme as either paintings, drawings, collages, posters, poems, animation, drama pieces - and among the MGS entries were a comic book and a stop-motion animation film using Lego.

The runners up for the Art prize were James Odell, Zayaan Khan, Sebby Hooton, Sam Keane-Hailey, William Burke-Jackson and Alexander Leigh.  Zachariyah Babar was awarded first prize for Creative Writing.  Lucas Page came Highly Commended for his Drama Animation.

The prize winners received a book token for their fantastic efforts and creativity.
