Old Boys' Dinner
Join us on Saturday 21 November for the 221st Old Boys' Reunion Dinner at MGS.
We are pleased to announce that this year's stewards are:
Senior Steward - Mark Johnson OM (69-76)
Upon leaving MGS, Mark completed a Classics degree at Wadham College before joining Mobil Oil on their graduate scheme where he spent 9 years moving through roles in motorsport sponsorship, public affairs and human resources. After Mobil, Mark navigated several business sectors such as pharma, fashion, utilities, banking and aviation, mainly in Group HR Director roles. He enjoyed the challenge of motivating disengaged workforces and building effective leadership teams. His career has been varied taking him to Sri Lanka, conducting wage negotiations with french trade unions and helping to restructure a well known brand on the brink of failure.
Since retiring in 2013, Mark has relocated to Lymington in Hampshire on the south coast with his wife Sally. He likes to travel and pursue new interests such as sailing, birdwatching and managing a garden trust, as well reverting to his old favourites, Homer, Euripides et al.
Junior Steward - Oliver Kingsley OM (08-16)
After leaving Manchester Grammar Oli studied History and Politics at University College London – leading to a career in the Civil Service entering through the Civil Service Fast Stream. Oli has been a Civil Servant for just over five years working in the Ministry of Defence working in International Capability Collaboration and a Private Secretary to the Defence Procurement Minister (four in two years) along with roles in the Cabinet Office COBR Crisis Management team. Currently Oli is based in the MOD and runs the team responsible for Typhoon fighter jet exports often travelling to the Middle East and Türkiye.
