Exceptional GCSE results for 2025

Pupils at The Manchester Grammar School are celebrating another year of exceptional GCSE examination results.

49% of all grades were at the very highest grade 9 level and 73% of all grades achieved were 9 or 8 (the equivalent of an A*).

Just a few of the many highlights: 87% of Latin, 85% of Religious Studies, 81% of Further Maths, 79% of Electronics, and 74% of Music results were graded at the highest level of 9.

This level of performance puts MGS in a very select group of schools nationally.

The School’s High Master, Dr Martin Boulton, said, “We are very proud of this group of pupils having achieved such outstanding results. Our boys can now approach the next exciting stage of their academic careers with real confidence. I would like to thank our dedicated staff for the work they have done to support our pupils through their GCSEs.”
