Many congratulations to MGS pupil Zac Copeland-Greene, who won third prize in the Girton College Humanities Writing Competition.

The competition is run annually for any Year 12 students with interests in the Humanities, and entrants are asked to submit a written piece inspired by any of the five objects from the College’s small antiquities museum, which contains Anglo-Saxon finds from the College grounds, Egyptian material including the rare portrait mummy ‘Hermione’, and Mediterranean material from the Classical and pre-Classical worlds.

Zac travelled to Cambridge this week for a presentation ceremony where he received his award from Girton College Mistress Professor Susan J. Smith and had the opportunity to tour the college. Well done, Zac.
