Congratulations to year 10 pupil Riccardo S who recently participated in the 30th Jubilee International Chopin Festival in Mazovia.

He was also invited to perform in the Concert Hall of the State Music School in Sochaczev, as well as in the house of Chopin's birthplace in Zelazowa Wola.

Riccardo commented on his experience: "Going to Poland to participate in the “XXX Jubilee International Chopin Festival” in Mazovia was yet another wonderful experience for me. Poland is a beautiful and friendly country, where you can sense a musical atmosphere as well as visit amazing countryside and historical sites (and enjoy such good food!). Moreover, the Festival location was very close to Chopin’s birthplace, which made the event even more special.  Both of the halls I played in had an excellent piano and a great acoustic (and a wonderful live audience!).

"During my week there I had the opportunity to meet a lot of people and make new friends. I also had the privilege to meet some great Musicians, such as Prof. Jan Kadlubiski, from whom I was able to learn a lot. It was also a great opportunity for me to perform lots of new repertoire that I had learnt lately. As a “Laureate” of the Festival, I had the honour to perform first during the Prize Winner Concert in the “Sala Koncertowa”  in Sochaczew,  and then in Chopin’s birthplace in Zelazowa Wola. This was an unforgettable experience, as playing some of Chopin’s compositions in his birthplace was truly very moving and a precious privilege. I am very grateful to my piano Teacher and to MGS, for their continuous support along my journey.”

Well done Riccardo!
