Akeel Malik

Akeel is Partner and Fund Manager of the Urban Splash Residential Fund which is a £150m property fund investing in design-led rental housing across the U.K, with ambitions to scale to a portfolio of £1bn+. Akeel is also Founder of PropTech company Ark which uses technology to improve the lived experience and is currently used by c.25,000 homes. Previously he worked at UBS Investment Bank as part of the Real Estate M&A and Capital Markets team advising on c.£20bn of transactions. Prior to this Akeel co-founded the EdTech company Aula, which he successfully exited in 2018. Akeel graduated from Pembroke College, University of Oxford with a BA in Economics & Management in 2016, and attended MGS from 2006-2013. Whilst at school he was involved with the New Mancunian magazine, the School Council and entrepreneurship including Young Enterprise. Akeel also supports the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and has been on the Fundraising Board of the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust since 2018.
