Allan Beardsworth

Allan has been a governor since 2016 and sits on the finance and general purposes committee. Educated at Bolton School and Clare College, Cambridge, where he studied engineering science. At school, MGS were his school's main rivals at chess: Allan played for England as a junior and twenty years later captained the England men's team. He worked for British Rail before switching career and training in accountancy at Deloitte. A chartered accountant and chartered tax advisor, he was a tax partner until retiring in 2014 since when he advises a number of business owners and private clients, and has several other trusteeships and charity interests.His son Tom was at MGS.
