The Dylan Samuels Memorial Tournament is in memory of our former pupil, Dylan, who lost his life to cystic fibrosis as a Year 10 pupil in 2016. Today, the school is honoured to host the annual football tournament in support of his legacy.

Head of Football, Gus Wilson, commented: “He was one of the happiest, gentlest pupils I have known, as well as being a very talented footballer. The tournament is something Dylan would have loved competing in, and would have a massive grin on his face now at seeing so many players competing for a trophy in his name. I am a better person for having known Dylan and the MGS team that plays each year does so to enjoy football in the same way Dylan did”.

The current U15s football captain, Hudson, said: “The whole squad for the Eights tournament always looks forward to such a competitive tournament. We hope we can play in same spirit we know Dylan did when he was here and enjoy the challenge of the games. It's great that we remember him each year in this way.”

Thank you to all the schools who came to MGS to take part in the tournament today!
