Skiing champ 2

Congratulations to year 5 pupil Brian who has competed in the British Indoor Racing series, winning a gold, a silver and a bronze medal in three individual skiing competitions, placing him 2nd in the U10 male group.

Brian received a trophy as part of the National 'Great British Racing' Series, which is organised annually by Snowsport England.

In 2017, Brian started his skiing journey in Austria when he was only 5 and a half years old. He then continued to ski in Austria during 2018 and 2019. Since 2018, he has committed himself to be a ski racing athlete and started his race training in Manchester Chill Factore. In 2021, he joined several race training camps organised by different ski clubs, following a hiatus due to the covid-19 pandemic.

The 2021 season is the first time that Brian will be involved in race competitions. His recent results placed him the overall 2nd place in his age category in 2021, which is extremely impressive for his first year of competitions. He has also won another two bronze medals in the Ambition Club National competition and in the Excel Club National competition in U10 Male group.

Brian's mother commented: "Brian enjoys the speed of the sport. Skiing gives him an incredible sense of freedom. Skiing also brings him confidence and optimism. These personality traits help him to be more proactive to challenge himself. He hopes he can keep making progress his skiing skills and compete a higher level of racing competition in the future".

Well done to Brian and good luck in all your upcoming snow sports events!
